Frequently Asked Questions
Immediate Steps After Loss
My pet passed away at home. What do I do?
We are so sorry for your loss. If your pet passes away at home, remain calm, follow the directions below, and call us at (702) 550-2782. We will guide you through the process from beginning to end.
Step 1) Keep Your Pet Cool
Place your pet on a towel or blanket in a cool and shaded area. Alternatively, you may place them in a plastic bag within a cooler containing ice while ensuring the ice does not directly touch their body. Try to keep insects away from their body. This helps to preserve their body until arrangements can be made.
Step 2) Keep Your Pet Inside
In the summertime, it is extremely important to keep your pet inside your home to avoid accelerated decomposition. If you are unable to keep your pet inside your home, you may place them in your garage.
Step 3) Call Us to Arrange Transportation
We can arrange for safe transportation of your pet from your home to our facility, or you may bring your pet to us.
Do you offer at-home euthanasia?

Our Aquamation Process
What is pet aquamation?
Pet aquamation, also called water cremation or alkaline hydrolysis, is a dignified, eco-friendly alternative to traditional flame cremation. The process uses warm water and a low-concentration alkali solution to gently reduce your pet’s body to bone. These bones are processed into a fine, sand-like powder, resulting in what we call ash.
How does aquamation differ from traditional flame cremation?
By avoiding the use of gas and high-heat combustion, aquamation uses up to 90% less energy and results in no direct emissions of greenhouse gases, mercury, and other hazardous air pollutants. Research affirms that aquamation is a cleaner, gentler, and more sustainable choice compared to flame cremation.
How much does aquamation cost?
Please visit our pricing page to see how much our cremation services cost. In most cases, aquamation is similarly priced — or sometimes more affordable — than flame cremation. At Perpetual Memories, we are committed to making sustainable aftercare accessible for all families.
How long does the aquamation process take?
Individual aquamations are typically completed within 2-3 weeks. The timeframe can vary depending on the type of cremation chosen and our current volume. We will provide you with an estimated timeframe when you make arrangements.
What happens to my pet’s remains after cremation?
If you choose individual cremation, your pet’s ashes will be carefully collected and prepared for return to you. We offer a variety of urns and memorial products. If you choose communal cremation, the ashes will be respectfully scattered at a beautiful nature preserve and farm, right here in Las Vegas.
How do I know I’m getting my pet’s ashes back with individual cremation?
At Perpetual Memories, we use a rigorous identification tracking (tags, logs, and microchip checks when available) system throughout the process to safeguard your pet’s identity and give you peace of mind.
Our Services and Offerings
What types of cremation do you offer?
We offer two different types of cremation based on your personal needs and preferences: individual cremation and communal cremation. In an individual cremation, your pet is individually cremated and all cremains and keepsakes are returned to you in an urn. During a communal cremation, your pet will gently be cremated alongside other pets and their ashes will be respectfully scattered at a local nature preserve and farm, right here in Las Vegas.
What kind of urns and memorial products do you offer?
We offer eco-friendly urns, ink prints, fur clippings, and personalized memorial items to honor your pet’s memory. To view all our products and keepsakes, check out our offerings page.
