After unexpectedly putting down our dog last month, we were overwhelmed by the price of the cremation service and urn that we would have chosen, from he cremation services the vet had referred us to ($300 for cremation, $350 for the urn we would have picked). I decided to do my own research and found Perpetual Memories. From the very first call, Donato (who I believe is the owner) has shown compassion and understanding throughout the whole process. The urns that they provide *almost* matched what we wanted, however, they only have one color. Donato said that I could order an urn online, which I did. They could also handle the cremation, as well as take nose and paw prints, and collect fur clippings from our dog. The vet we had went to was an emergency vet which was open after 6pm. Donato promised he would pick up my dog that night. At 9pm I called the vet to confirm our dog had been picked up, which he had not been. I called Donato after hours (I was panicking, I apologize), and he answered to let me know he was already en route there and would call me back when he picked up my dog, which he did. He was not irritated with me, and continued showing understanding of the situation. I was able to pick up my dog earlier this week. The lady who helped at the front, Rowena(?) was also amazing. Perpetual Memories exceeded every expectation, from communication to something as simple as fur clippings. I will ALWAYS recommend them if anyone is in this unfortunate situation. I couldn't find a place that would take him without jacking the price up to almost $300. This place, the people, they were so sweet. Even while in hysterics from losing my baby overnight, they were so sweet and understanding, even making sure we knew the whole process. We lost our beloved cat, Sally, last Sunday morning. Despite being their day off, Donato performed Sally's aquamation that afternoon. Donato was extremely compassionate, understanding, and patient with us. We had numerous special requests--from having the opportunity to say our final farewell with Sally on a basket of roses before he placed Sally in the machine, to creating a customized paw/nose print with her four paws and her nose together, to allowing my wife to assist in the processing of Sally's bones on July 4 (again their day off)--Donato went above and beyond to ensure that we had the opportunity to lay Sally to rest our way. Moreover, Donato's integrity cannot be understated. After considering several traditional cremation services, we chose to do aquamation for its gentler process and to retrieve more ashes. I was referred from another aquamation company who only serviced human remains. I was expecting to pay a lot more based on the prices posted on the other company's website. Donato could have easily taken advantage of us and charged us more, but he didn't. After reading numerous horror stories online about unacceptable treatment of pet remains to lost bodies, we were also very worried about trusting someone else with our beloved cat's body. Donato was able to put our minds at ease and gained our trust with his integrity and caring nature. I am so glad that we chose to trust Donato with handling the precious remains of Sally. For almost 16 years, we were blessed with the happiness that Sally gave us. Donato and Perpetual Memories helped ensure that Sally's journey ended in loving peace.Posted on
